Bumblebee Unlimited - I Got A Big Bee

Hey Milwaukee, this Friday I'm playing records up at Impala Lounge (701 E Center St.), from 10-2.

This is the basically the same tune as Donna Mcghee's "Mr. Blindman", with beefed up percussion and different lyrics sung by little bumblebees!

Time Is What You Need - Candye Edwards

More Detroit hotness from Kevin McCord, accompanied by great vocals from his wife, and One Way singer, Candye Edwards.

Lets Do It Again (Vic Flowers Instrumental) - Blackgirl

A nice 90's R&B slow groove...

Fools Paradise - Meli'sa Morgan

Squeeze The Trigger - Ice-T

I bet Ice-T loved the acid

Until You Were Gone - Leon's Creation

Computer Love (12" Promo Remix) - Zapp

Warm Weather - Pieces Of A Dream

This pretty much sums up yesterday...

Oui C'est Dans La Danse - Pierre Perpall

A funky upbeat French-Canadian disco track. I have no clue what he's saying, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with dancing.

Too Soon You're Old - Penny Goodwin

Milwaukee soul music at it's finest...

Genie - BB & Q Band

One of the sexiest R&B tunes of the 80's. Bump it loud.

Skitso (You're My Friend) - A Number Of Names

Not really sure what genre this would fall into, but it's really fun.

Twin City Rapp (A True Story) - Twin City Rappers

Here's the first Rap record to come out of Minnesota. To be honest, it's sort of a mediocre tune; but it's still worthy of a post. It's from 1985 and the lyrics are all about the Twin Cities music scene that was getting national/ internaitional attention.

Perfect Lover - Company B

Wow, I gabbed this yesterday and I'm really stoked on it. I think it's definetly on par with 'Fascinated'.

Take Me To Your Heart (Razormaid Mix) - Rick Astley

Do I Do (Vocal) - Maurice McGee

I've been slacking on posts, due to real life things like camping, road biking on trails through the northwoods and sipping Old Overholt.

Here's one of my favorite italo tracks...

Searching For Your Love (Instrumental) - R.B. Hudmon

This Friday, I'm excited to be spinning tunes as a guest for Sirius Booty #71 (a monthly event at Milwaukee's Redroom), with Brandon Brazil Reyes. Music goes from 10-2. I've got lots of new records that will be getting played, like this bumpin' track out of Atlanta, produced by Jason Bryant (mainly known for his work with the S.O.S. Band). Hope those of you in the area can make it out!

Just One Victory - Todd Rundgren

Some Guys Have All The Luck - Junior Tucker

I posted the amazing Take a Message on here a few years ago. Here's a nice reggae cover of a tune interpreted by countless artists in many different ways.

Drugs In My Pocket - The Monks

I Want To Thank You - Alicia Myers

A cool come-up today with this soulful boogie track written and produced by the great Kevin McCord from Detroit.

Nothing To It - Magnetic touch

No Favors - Temper

Can't You See The Light (edit) - Paradise

Here's nice gospel/modern soul tune that I scored for a buck today. I edited it a bit and cut out some of the overbearing vocals at the end.

Summer Night Swimming (mini) Mix

Take Charge - Curtis Hairston

Tonight a few of us will be in rotation playing tunes up at Impala Cocktail Lounge (701 E Center St. in Milwaukee) for the Night Moves Party. It was a lot of fun last month, so check it out if you're around. We're starting at 9.

This one goes out to Myke Deezy: "Number one hype man in the Mil, Period." He put me up on this a little while ago, and I grabbed it in Chicago last time I was there.

:(

Papasong - Azymuth

I've known about this Rio de Janeiro based jazz group for a while, with the classic Dear Limmertz being a bigtime favorite. I only recently came up on the 12" of it and was pleasantly surprised to find this awesome jam on the flip.

Hot Pepper Jelly

Today 'jam' is not a tune, it is Hot Pepper Jelly. Definitely not something to sleep on. It's great on breakfast toast, turkey sandwiches, salmon + cream cheese on crackers, and countless other possibilities. Many different companies do their own variation, but Texas Pepper Jelly seems to have the game on lock.
