Hey Milwaukee! Tomorrow night, myself and Frank Straka will be up at Impala Lounge playing music you can move your body to! Party starts at 10. As always, lots of new records that I'm excited to share.
The homie Brandon came over a few weeks ago during a snowstorm and we threw down some records. Levels get a little blown out at some points, oops.
Lady Tee has a new CD out, with recordings made shortly before her passing. It's not her strongest work, BUT, if you purchase the CD at your local music store, the CD comes with this amazing flexi promo 7".
Here's the contradicting reality of what I was doing when listening to this tune tonight....
Amazing cover of the Bobby Caldwell classic, from the Caribbean...
It's Sunday, and that means Sound Travels is happening at the Nomad in Milwaukee! If you have not been, it's probably the best weekly event in the city. Always good tunes and a nice vibe. I'm excited to be joining Steven Watkins and Marcus Doucette this week as a guest! Music goes from 8:30 - 1:30, stop down! Here's another nice Kevin McCord produced tune with Candye Edwards.
I'll be spinning records at Impala Lounge again tonight from 10:00-2:30. It's been a lot of fun up there recently, so stop thru if you're in Milwaukee looking for something to do!
Here's an amazing Italo track that I picked up in Chicago on Wednesday. Arranged by the masterminds of Kano: Stefano Pulga and Luciano Ninzatti. Gotta love the vocals on this too!
Rest In Peace Major Harris. February 9, 1947 - November 9, 2012.
Here's a nice laid back jazzy modern soul tune from Ronnie Laws. Found this in Chicago a couple months back, and feels about right for my mellow Saturday.
Myself and Kris p are playing tunes for the halloween party at Impala Lounge this saturday. They are giving out Cash Prizes for best costumes! Party starts at 9.
Hey Milwaukee, this Friday I'm playing records up at Impala Lounge (701 E Center St.), from 10-2.
This is the basically the same tune as Donna Mcghee's "Mr. Blindman", with beefed up percussion and different lyrics sung by little bumblebees!
